Relaxing Vacation Spots in the U.S.A.

A lot of the time when we travel it is to see new and exciting sights, have some adventure, take in thrill rides, ski, do some water sports or go on interesting tours. Planning, itineraries and keeping on CapeCod-PremierTimeshareResaleBlogschedule can sometimes make these types of vacations a little stressful. But there are many relaxing vacation spots to wash your worries away right here in the United States.

Martha’s Vineyard, an island just south of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, is a well-known getaway for the rich and famous. The island is very laid back, and you can find sandy beaches and secluded trails to walk and unwind. Though much of the island is expensive and a bit higher end, there are still smaller villages that focus on marine trade that are a bit more down to Earth. Sit back, sip on some wine and enjoy the east coast relaxation.
Sedona-PremierTimeshareResaleBlog
The red rocks of Sedona, Arizona have been described by many as soothing. The landscape has been a favorite of artists for years, and Sedona has served as the backdrop for several motion pictures. There are more than 100 hiking trails in the area, as well as several spas that offer all kinds of relaxing wraps and treatments. Or settle in to enjoy the views with a latte from one of several coffeehouses in Sedona.

Everyone knows Hawaii is a relaxing destination, and Kauai-PremierTimeshareResaleBlogthe island of Kauai might win the title for best laid-back atmosphere. With upscale dining choices and pristine beaches this might be the perfect place to unwind. Hurricanes Impact Timeshare Resorts

The Atlantic hurricane season is generally considered to last from June 1 through November 30. So far this year, there have been sixteen total storms, six of them major. As can be expected, these hurricanes impact timeshare resorts throughout the U.S. and Caribbean.

Hurricane Image from SatelliteHurricane Irma made landfall in Florida on September 10 after blazing a destructive path through the Carribbean, most notably Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Maarten, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Turks and Caicos Islands. Damage estimates exceed $62.9 billion U.S. dollars with the greater cost of 134 confirmed deaths due to this powerful storm.

On September 18, Hurricane Maria reached Dominica as a Category 5 hurricane. Maria also lashed the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico as a category 4 storm. In all, Maria resulted in 94 confirmed deaths and caused widespread damage across Dominica and Puerto Rico as well as effecting Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe and the US Virgin Islands. Damages are currently estimated at $51.2 billion, although total loses are likely higher.

While this is not a complete list, here are some resorts and areas that are still reporting major damage:

Anguilla – most resorts (including the Four Seasons Resort & Residences Anguilla) are closed.

St. Maarten – most properties suffered significant damage, this includes:

  • Oyster Bay Beach Resort – currently closed
  • Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort & Casino – currently closed
  • Westin Dawn Beach Resort and Spa – closed until further notice

  • Damage from Hurricane IrmaU.S. Virgin Islands – most properties sustained damage, some of it severe including:

  • Westin St. John Resort Villas – currently closed
  • Bluebeard’s Castle Resort – closed until April 1, 2018
  • Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove Resort – currently closed (possibly reopening in December 2017)
  • The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas – closed to new reservations at this time

  • Puerto Rico – these properties are currently closed:

  • Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve
  • W Retreat & Spa in Vieques
  • Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa

  • In time, the additional impact of these widespread storms will be felt when assessments are made to cover storm damage that might not be covered by insurance. While rising maintenance fees are an issue felt by all timeshare owners, the reality is that many of these resorts have staff who have lost everything, including their jobs. Please visit your resort’s website to see if they are taking donations for staff members who have been affected by the storms. Great American Summertime Lake Destinations

While many of us will be hitting the ocean beaches during the summer, you don’t have to travel coast side to have fun in the sun and water. The United States is home to many wonderful lakes, thousands actually, so you can be sure to find a spot to cool off, take in some water sports, and still get that tan.

South Lake Tahoe, California is a great place to visit year round. Popular in the winter for amazing skiing, the town really comes alive during summer. Whether you want to kayak, jet ski, mountain bike, or just do some swimming, Lake Tahoe is sure to entertain. Parties abound here during the summer months, so I you are into libations you will not be disappointed.

Lake Havasu Arizona is well known for its wild spring break parties. During the summer months, the lake becomes a bit more docile, and more family friendly. You can go in to town and do some gambling or take in a great restaurant, or do some scuba diving or boating on the lake. You might want to stay close to the water because temperatures here can soar into the 100s.

Lake Lanier, Georgia’s largest lake is a fantastic summer vacation destination. You can rent boats of all sizes, from pontoons to houseboats, even a yacht. Lanier has many islands, and about 700 miles of shoreline. There is a water park nearby, as well as hiking trails, horseback riding, and golf.

Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri is a great spot to visit in the summer. You can explore underground caves, check out world class golf nearby, or do some top botch fishing. Hit the waters for swimming, boating, or parasailing. There is great shopping near by as well, and some amazing places to dine.

Buying a timeshare resale is a great way to visit any of these fantastic lakes year after year while saving a lot of money as opposed to buying directly from the resort.
