But there are many relaxing vacation spots to wash your worries away right here in the United States.

Martha’s Vineyard, an island just south of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, is a well-known getaway for the rich and famous. The island is very laid back, and you can find sandy beaches and secluded trails to walk and unwind. Though much of the island is expensive and a bit higher end, there are still smaller villages that focus on marine trade that are a bit more down to Earth. Sit back, sip on some wine and enjoy the east coast relaxation.

Mammoth Cave National Park: An Underground Wonder

Deep in the heart of Kentucky, Mammoth Cave National Park is an amazing array of hundreds of miles of underground caves. Used for mining, as hideouts for outlaws, and as inspiration for authors, a trip to this longest known cave in the world is sure to incite awe. There’s plenty to do, see, and learn, so you’re sure to have a great time.

With over 30 miles of rivers, the Green and Nolin, the park is great if you love to fish. Bass, catfish, bluegill and crappie are just a few of the game fish you can hook in these waters. If fishing isn’t quite your thing, kayaking or canoeing are still great ways to enjoy these waters and take in the scenery.

Mammoth Cave National Park hosts many miles of bike trails for those looking to get out and experience nature on their mountain bikes, or their road bikes. Several off road trails are designated for mountain bike use, and street bikes are permitted on all park roads open to the public, just give the right of way to pedestrians and horses.

Then there is the cave itself.

Tours of the cave are given year round, and there are a variety of options. Take the “Frozen Niagara” tour in the winter and see some of the breathtaking, heavily decorated areas of Mammoth Cave. It’s a shorter walk, so perfect for kids or the elderly. In the summer, experience the cave as settlers did in the past by lantern light with the “Violet City Lantern Tour.” On this tour, the lanterns cast shadows and you stop by a 19th century tuberculosis hut!

Buying a Kentucky timeshare is a great way to keep visiting this phenomenal attraction annually. Premier Timeshare Resale and our licensed timeshare resale agents are more than happy to help you find a timeshare resale so you can save thousands. Contact us and be on your way to this jaw dropping park in no time!

grand-canyon-national-parkConsidered one of the natural wonders of the world because of its natural geological features, Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona receives close to 5 million visitors annually. At 277 river miles long and at times 18 miles wide and 1 mile deep, this national landmark is truly breathtaking. There is plenty to do and see here and many ways to do it.

On the South Rim, which is open year round, a great way to get down and see the canyon is a mule trip. You can take the Canyon Vistas Ride, a 3 grand-canyon-muleshour ride around the rim of the canyon. If you feel like spending the night, the Overnight Ride takes you to the bottom where you will stay at the Phantom Ranch.

The Trail of Time, a geology exhibit that opened in 2010 is a great way to learn about the past of the canyon and its formations over time. Walking west from the Yavapai Geology Museum you go backwards in time, from the present to the canyon’s beginnings, while walking east you experience it from past to present. Stop and check out historic Grand Canyon Village, it is situated about halfway from each side.

grand-canyon-colorado-riverIf you want a more adventurous view of Grand Canyon National Park, there are whitewater trips lasting from 3-18 days or half-day smooth water trips from Glen Canyon Dam to Lees Ferry, and those can be arranged by any Lodge in the park, but the whitewater tours will require a reservation.
