Getting to Know the Premier Timeshare Resale Team

One of the fun things about starting any new job is getting to know the people you’re working with on a regular basis. When we were discussing possible blog topics and the idea came up to interview our Premier Timeshare Resale team members, I was excited to get started.

So, whether you’re familiar with our company or not, you can read on to learn a little bit more about the people behind the name, Premier Timeshare Resale. Beginning with Premier Timeshare Resale Owner/President and an Associate Broker with RE/MAX AssociatesKelly Marshall.
  Kelly Marshall - family

Why/how did you start working with timeshares?

Some might say it was by accident. With my Bachelor’s degree (from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania) in Mass Communications: Public Relations & Advertising, I took an interview for a Marketing Position with Marriott Vacation Club in Park City. I was hired in the Marketing Department for their vacation club, essentially, timeshares.  After a year, I wanted to work in Sales, but without any prior sales experience they wouldn’t even consider me for an interview.

Playa del Carmen, MexicoSo, I moved to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and planned to find a job where I could practice Spanish to become fluent. While there, a gentleman I met suggested that with my personality, I should sell timeshares!

I laughed and told him I tried, but didn’t have the required sales experience. He said, “You are a woman who speaks English, living in Mexico. You’re hired.”

I sold for Fisherman’s Village for 3 months. After which, I sent my sales numbers to Marriott in Park City (the same one that initially wouldn’t interview me), and they hired me! I packed my things and moved back to Park City, and worked in Sales for Marriott’s MountainSide and Summit Watch.

Lake Tahoe During a trip to Marriott’s Timber Lodge in Lake Tahoe, California, I noticed three different timeshare resale offices and saw the prices on the resale market.

With that information as my guide, I came back to Utah and got my Utah Real Estate license, left Marriott, and opened “Mountain Timeshare Resale” with Alanna Hatz in 2006.

Within the first year, I realized the need for a company that had licensed agents who did not charge upfront fees, not just in Utah, but worldwide.  We changed the name to Premier Timeshare Resale and started helping everyone we could.

What is a favorite place you have lived or traveled to and why?

Park City, UTIt’s difficult to pick just one! In the US, my favorite place is where I live, Park City.

However, I’ve really enjoyed trips to Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver, Canada. Europe is a favorite for food, art, and historic towns and cities. Thailand has some of the best beaches I have ever visited by far.

While in Thailand, I had the opportunity to volunteer at an orphanage. That was one of the best experiences of my life. It was something I would have told you I could never do. Well, we did. I left crying every day, but somehow even though I went to give love to the little babies, I left getting more from them!

Lastly, what is one thing you wish people knew about timeshares that they may not know?

That they can get really good deals to stay at top notch properties.
window beach
A lot of timeshares offer a full kitchen and a great view. You are also often steps away from either the pool and the beach.

This makes ALL the difference when staying with kids.

Our kids (who are both preschool age) love the beach, but for only 20-30 minute increments if we are lucky! I can’t imagine packing all my things up for a “day at the beach” that may only last a few minutes! The same holds true for a day on the ski slopes.

Convenience is key. Timeshares offer that… at better prices!

Glacier National Park: A Gorgeous Slice of Montana

Glacier National Park - Lake McDonaldLocated in picturesque Montana, Glacier National Park, straddling the United States-Canadian border, is a must see for any nature lover. With over 760 lakes, amazing mountain peaks, beautiful waterfalls, and many hiking trails, there is plenty to see and do at this destination which is truly a national treasure.

President Taft established Glacier National Park as the 10th national park in 1910. With 3.3 million annual visitors in 2017, Glacier sees fewer adventurers than it’s Wyoming-Montana-Idaho cousin: Yellowstone, but it still makes the “Top 10” list of most visited national parks.

Glacier National Park - Grinell Glacier

Grinell Glacier

It is called Glacier National Park, so make sure to take in one of the 25 remaining glaciers; some predictions say they may be gone by 2020. Sperry and Grinnell are fairly accessible and a sight to behold.

Take a bike ride to the Going to the Sun Road and witness 52 miles of breathtaking views. If you don’t feel like pedaling, take a drive, or hop on of the famous 1930s era red buses. With 33 buses in their fleet, these historic rides are possibly the oldest fleet of touring vehicles in the world.

Glacier National Park - Bighorn sheep

Bighorn Sheep

Glacier National Park also has a diverse population of wildlife. Majestic prairie elk, mountain goats and bighorn sheep are just a few of the animals you may see. The park also is home to the largest population of grizzly bears in the lower 48 states, so you may have a run in, just be safe.

Buying a timeshare resale near this historic and timeless Montana park is a great way to come back and enjoy a fantastic vacation year after year.

Explore the Real Mexico at the Royal Sands

Located in beautiful Cancun, Mexico, The Royal Sands Resort is in the heart of any beach lover’s paradise. There is plenty of fun in the sun and night life, which makes Cancun a top destination spot for spring breakers. The Royal Sands made Redweek.com’s Top 25 Timeshare Rental Resorts list Beach-Royal-Sands-Cancun-Mexicofor 2018 and no wonder! But this area of Mexico is also rich in ancient history and a great place to stay and experience authentic Mexican culture. Let’s take a look at some things you can do and see to get a taste of the real Mexico.

Explore Mayan Ruins

Tulum-Royal-Sands-Cancun-MexicoThe Mayan ruins of Tulum, 80 miles south of Cancun, are the only major Mayan site to overlook the Caribbean. Containing more than 60 structures, this area was inhabited after 1200 B.C. and is considered to be one of the most important ceremonial centers to the Mayan people. The location on the Caribbean Sea made Tulum a major Mayan trade center. Be sure to check out El Castillo, a pyramid perched atop a 40 foot cliff, thought to be a lighthouse to guide local seafarers.

Explore an Eco-archaeological Park

Xcaret-Royal-Sands-Cancun-MexicoWhile definitely for the tourists, a great way to learn about local culture and heritage is at a theme park! At Xcaret you can experience pre-Hispanic dances, visit archaeological sites, take river tours, and feast on authentic Mexican cuisine. There is snorkeling, as well as a “meet the dolphins” attraction. Stop by the Hacienda Henequenera, a 19th century mansion where you can learn about machinery used for henequen (a variety of agave). The Hacienda Henequenera is also at the doorstep of the Museum of Mexican Folk Art, a place to enjoy hand crafted traditional Mexican art.

These are just a couple of ways to explore Mexico and learn more about its Mayan roots. Buying a timeshare in Cancun is a great way to not only enjoy the beaches every year, but to immerse yourself in the local scene as well. Relaxing Vacation Spots in the U.S.A.

A lot of the time when we travel it is to see new and exciting sights, have some adventure, take in thrill rides, ski, do some water sports or go on interesting tours. Planning, itineraries and keeping on CapeCod-PremierTimeshareResaleBlogschedule can sometimes make these types of vacations a little stressful. But there are many relaxing vacation spots to wash your worries away right here in the United States.

Martha’s Vineyard, an island just south of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, is a well-known getaway for the rich and famous. The island is very laid back, and you can find sandy beaches and secluded trails to walk and unwind. Though much of the island is expensive and a bit higher end, there are still smaller villages that focus on marine trade that are a bit more down to Earth. Sit back, sip on some wine and enjoy the east coast relaxation.
Sedona-PremierTimeshareResaleBlog
The red rocks of Sedona, Arizona have been described by many as soothing. The landscape has been a favorite of artists for years, and Sedona has served as the backdrop for several motion pictures. There are more than 100 hiking trails in the area, as well as several spas that offer all kinds of relaxing wraps and treatments. Or settle in to enjoy the views with a latte from one of several coffeehouses in Sedona.

Everyone knows Hawaii is a relaxing destination, and Kauai-PremierTimeshareResaleBlogthe island of Kauai might win the title for best laid-back atmosphere. With upscale dining choices and pristine beaches this might be the perfect place to unwind. Known as the “Garden Isle” much of Kauai’s pristine beauty is inaccessible by automobile, so pack your hiking boots and discover what peaceful really means!

Buying a timeshare resale is a great way to keep coming back to one of these relaxing destinations while saving money. August is Family Fun Month!

We love travel, but sometimes life keeps you close to home. In honor of Family Fun Month, we have 10 ideas for creating fun memories while you are there!

1. Visit a zoo or museum. Whether it is watching the antics of a favorite animal at the zoo or learning something new at a museum, these local attractions offer a glimpse into a different world.

Premier Timeshare Resale - Family Fun2. Bake some cookies. Who doesn’t love a warm, gooey cookie right out of the oven? Dust off a secret family recipe or try something new and maybe you’ll find a new family favorite.

3. Camp in the backyard. No time for a full blown camping trip? Pull out your gear and set up in your backyard for the night. Or just pull some blankets outside and try to count the stars after dark.

4. Visit a national park near you. We love our national parks so much we did a blog series on them. Don’t have one close? Check out your state’s parks instead.

Premier Timeshare Resale - Family Fun Concerts5. Go to an outdoor concert. Live music is always a recipe for family fun, and an outdoor concert just makes it that much more memorable. But be warned, this might be the start of a summer tradition!

6. Plan a scavenger hunt. Give your kids or grand-kids a list of things to hunt for in your house and backyard. You can even offer prizes for the most creative finds.

7. Go on a nature hike. Even the smallest family members can participate in easy hikes and they’ll often find interesting butterflies, bugs or flowers for all to enjoy.

8. Become a tourist in your own town or city. Stop by your local visitor center to stock up on brochures of all the fun things to do in your own backyard.

Premier Timeshare Resale - Family Fun Month9. Host a family game night. Perfect for a rainy day or evening, pull out those old board games and see who comes out victorious.

10. Plan your next trip out of town. Even younger kids enjoy planning a trip somewhere new or to an old favorite destination. A timeshare ownership can help motivate you to travel (if motivation is needed) and can even open up the possibilities of trying new locations.

Great American Summertime Lake Destinations

While many of us will be hitting the ocean beaches during the summer, you don’t have to travel coast side to have fun in the sun and water. The United States is home to many wonderful lakes, thousands actually, so you can be sure to find a spot to cool off, take in some water sports, and still get that tan.

South Lake Tahoe, California is a great place to visit year round. Popular in the winter for amazing skiing, the town really comes alive during summer. Whether you want to kayak, jet ski, mountain bike, or just do some swimming, Lake Tahoe is sure to entertain. Parties abound here during the summer months, so if you are into libations you will not be disappointed.

Lake Havasu Arizona is well known for its wild spring break parties. During the summer months, the lake becomes a bit more docile, and more family friendly. You can go in to town and do some gambling or take in a great restaurant, or do some scuba diving or boating on the lake. You might want to stay close to the water because temperatures here can soar into the 100s.

Lake Lanier, Georgia’s largest lake is a fantastic summer vacation destination. You can rent boats of all sizes, from pontoons to houseboats, even a yacht. Lanier has many islands, and about 700 miles of shoreline. There is a water park nearby, as well as hiking trails, horseback riding, and golf.

Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri is a great spot to visit in the summer. You can explore underground caves, check out world class golf nearby, or do some top botch fishing. Hit the waters for swimming, boating, or parasailing. There is great shopping near by as well, and some amazing places to dine.

Buying a timeshare resale is a great way to visit any of these fantastic lakes year after year while saving a lot of money as opposed to buying directly from the resort. Premier Timeshare Resale and our seasoned timeshare resale agents can help you with any questions you may have about buying resale at any one of these wonderful destinations, contact us today!
