Marriott’s Harbour Lake Review

My husband and I stayed at Marriott’s Harbour Lake last fall and were very impressed. The resort is not quite as large as Marriott’s Grande Vista, but it’s ideal for families with children.

The rooms were well-appointed and seemed to have undergone a recent renovation. The two bedroom villa sleeps eight with a Master Bedroom, Guest Suite and two sofa beds. The kitchen is equipped with all the items one would need to prepare a meal in with the family. Being Orlando, this resort is also set alongside a beautiful lake, which makes for a nice backdrop for a family photo.

The resort is located just off International Drive making it very close to Sea World and just a short drive to Disney’s theme parks, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Dining options abound and you’re sure to find your favorite chain in this franchise haven.

The best thing about Marriott’s Harbor Lake in Orlando, Florida, is certainly the pools. On one side of the resort, there is giant pirate ship with planks to walk, slides to splash into the pool and of course water guns. Activities staff keep the children busy with all kinds of games and contests. We had the pleasure of watching the children go on a treasure hunt while we caught some rays poolside. The smiles on their faces and excitement in their eyes told me these were memories they won’t be forgetting.

As if the pirate ship isn’t enough, a second pool on property is surrounded by a giant water activities area, a waterslide into the pool and a miniature golf course. We saw kids and adults alike enjoying the water features. You can run under sprinklers or shoot giant water guns at one another from opposing towers. Don’t get caught not paying attention in the towers! Both are topped with a giant bucket and when it’s full it dumps a tidal wave of water over those lurking beneath.

disney world epcotThis resort definitely caters to the wee ones with a poolside snack shack that has all their favorite popsicles, smoothies and ice cream treats. If you’re coming to Orlando with children I highly recommend this resort. At Marriott’s Harbour Lake Resort, Mom and Dad can relax poolside and let the many activities wear the kids out. A day off from touring the nearby theme parks can be fun and relaxing for everyone.

Of the multiple Marriott Vacation Clubs in Orlando, this resort is one of the smallest but as they say, “Good things come in small packages.” When it comes to Marriott’s Harbour Lake Resort I’d have to agree.

If an annual trip to Orlando is something you’d like to cherish with your kids or grandkids then buying a Harbour Lake timeshare will ensure those memories are made year after year.

Marriott’s Grande Vista Timeshares Offer Endless Fun

Marriott's Grand VistaIn a recent trip to Orlando, my husband and I stayed at Marriott’s Grande Vista in Orlando, Florida. The resort was easy to find and centrally located. Disney and Universal Studios are just a short drive away and Sea World is just down the road. Personally, I’m not a big fan of franchise restaurants, but if you are then Orlando is your Candy Land. From fast food chains, to fast food casual dining chains to high-end dining franchises. They are all there in Orlando.

Orlando FloridaThe property itself is expansive with a large lake in the center of the resort. Golf lovers will be happy to find a Nick Faldo Golf Institute and top-rated golf course right on property. From inside our villa we could hear the golfers yelling “four!”

Marriott’s Grande Vista also has multiple pools to choose from and hot tubs for soaking achy muscles after long days of navigating the theme parks. No matter which pool you choose, a grill is nearby serving great food and fun poolside drinks.

The rooms are pleasantly decorated and the kitchen is complete with all the items you need to cook a few meals if you like. The villas have two bedrooms, a Master bedroom and a Guest Suite. The Master sleeps two and has its own private bathroom and soaking tub. The Guest Suite has a queen bed and a pull-out sofa bed, sleeping four. The living area contains a second sleeper sofa, bringing the total to eight.

Disney WorldOn our visit, we chose to visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Epcot Center. As adults, we enjoyed Animal Kingdom and Epcot the most. However, all three parks do a wonderful job of transporting you to a world only Disney could create. It’s worth noting that Disney sells alcohol at both Animal Kingdom and Epcot but not at Magic Kingdom. We were lucky to visit during Epcot’s Fall Wine Festival. We spent the evening tasting delicacies and sipping wines from places around the world like Italy, France, Spain, Ireland and Thailand. Then we finished the night enjoying incredible desserts as we watched fireworks exploding into the sky over the lake.

We also spent an evening each at Downtown Disney and Universal Walk, perusing the shops, dining and nightlife. Options for entertainment certainly abound in Orlando. From sunrise to beyond sunset, there is never a dull moment. I don’t know how Mickey Mouse does it all!

Marriot’s Aruba Ocean Club! I just spent a week staying at Marriott’s Aruba Ocean Club, which is conveniently right next door to Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club on the left and Marriott’s Aruba Resort & Stellaris Casino on the right. ArubaIf that is not enough, The Ritz Carlton Aruba with its own casino featuring Aruba’s only Baccarat table is adjacent to the Marriott Aruba Resort & Stellaris. It’s like having your own little Aruban haven of Marriott services and amenities.

Listed below are some of the perks we most enjoyed on our stay.

• Personal Beach Palapas. Head out early and score a waterfront Palapa. Marriott offers free Palapas to guests and Marriott attendants will even set up your towels and lounge chairs for you. Not to fret, even you like to sleep in like me, you can get a Palapa for you and your family a little further back. To be honest, I kind of liked being midway because it was an easy walk to the pool or beach!

• Pool Bars – With multiple Marriotts comes multiple pool bars. Swim up to any pool bar and cool off your body while cooling off your taste buds with one of many frozen tropical drinks to choose from. Pina Coladas seemed to be a favorite among guests.

• Activities – Marriott always has great activities on site and these resorts boast their share. From daily volleyball games to Zumba to massages on the beach. You name it, they offer it!

• Restaurants – There are multiple restaurants to choose from on-site: Pavilion Grill, Ocean Café, La Vista, Simply Fish, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Ketsu Sushi Bar, Waves Beach Bar & Lobby Cafe. We enjoyed a Wednesday special at Champions Sports Bar with 2 for $20 burgers and $5 Margaritas. We also loved the fish tacos at ocean front dining offered at Simply Fish. A night was not complete without a baked good for dessert from the Lobby Café!

• Palm Beach – Marriott Aruba Ocean Club is located right on Palm Beach. The best beach in Aruba. You can walk the entire beach from Palm Beach to Eagle Beach in about an hour. You’ll find Palm Beach packed with beach bars, floating restaurants on piers, and activities like wind surfing, kite surfing, wave runner rentals & more. The kids seemed to really enjoy being pulled behind watercrafts in their raft of choice.

• Palm Beach for Shopping & Dining – After a day on the beach or poolside, you can walk just a stone’s throw away to the shopping and dining mecca of Palm Beach. There are several blocks of restaurants and shops to choose from. You can find all kinds of cuisine in Aruba, with seafood options on most menus. Prices also range from casual dining to higher-end fine dining options. We enjoyed Giannis, Tandoor, and Salt Pepper. However, our favorite meals were right on the beach at Sea Breeze Restaurant & Bar and brunch at Ruinas del Mar at the Hyatt. Even if you don’t eat at the Hyatt, a walk through the resort grounds is a must-do and will give you a feeling of serenity.

ArubaA week is just not enough to sink your teeth into everything Aruba has to offer. My husband and I can certainly see the appeal of owning a timeshare to come back again and again. We’ve been lucky trading place to place with our Marriott timeshare weeks. I can see how it would be difficult to pick just one place, and with Marriott Vacation Club, the beauty is, we don’t have to! I can’t wait to find out where we’ll trade to next!

There are no upfront charges or hidden fees. They are paid a commission fee at closing. This means, they are only paid if and when they sell it for you. This is truly a win/win for everyone; there is no risk to a timeshare owner but still incentive for the timeshare agents to get it sold.



Several months ago, the BBB, ARDA and Consumer Protection Agencies nationwide began recommending those looking to sell a timeshare never to pay an upfront fee and to use a licensed timeshare resale broker. This advice is backed by sound reasoning. Selling and closing a timeshare isn’t an easy task. Others claim they are “appraisal fees” or “closing costs,” real estate terms that all sound legitimate. Unfortunately, these owners often have become victim time and time again; until now that is.

Owner Kelly Marshall states that for the past several years her company has been inundated with requests to sell timeshares that her company didn’t have the ability to list and advertise. According to an e-news article just published on Crain’s New York Business site, another Manhattan timeshare resort will be available in NYC soon. Converting the sleek and modern Alex hotel, Wyndham resorts will be developing a timeshare property in a fabulous midtown location.


The Alex Hotel is located at 205 E. 45th Street, and known for its luxurious assortment of single rooms, suites, and multiple bedroom deluxe suites. The property itself is only 10 years old, and was in foreclosure when Wyndham made the deal to purchase it over a series of a few years.


Wyndham will be doing some renovations, according the article on Crain’s, and with a steal of a sale at $115 million, Wyndham will be able to perfect the hotel grounds to its high standards of its timeshare resort extravagance.

Timeshare owners and new vacationers alike may be pleased at another vacation ownership opportunity in New York City, where timeshare “trading” has been difficult due to the limited timeshare space.
